Al Sadu Towers
The development consists of five towers ranging from 26 to 60 floors and connected together by four-storey podium and 2 basements. The lower podium and basement levels serve as parking and retail areas.
The design concept of the five towers is inspired by Al Sadu, one of the oldest traditional forms of weaving carpets and textiles practiced by Emirati women in rural communities, which was listed in UNESCO intangible cultural heritage list. Carpet threads are integrated and interlocking vertically as well as horizontally to create the envelope of the 5 towers. Vertical lines interlocking with horizontal lines shaped the carpet enclosure of the towers that spells down and out to generate the podium skin.
