MBZ Private Villa
The villa is located within the district of Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Abu Dhabi. The project’s objective is to turn the selected interior spaces of the residence into a more functional and visually-appealing spaces for the family and their guests.
The existing entrance hall’s high-ceiling feature was maximized through the addition of a sitting area, making the space more functional and more welcoming to family guests. A sculptural platform is also introduced beneath the grand staircase. Along with these features, one side of its wall was turned into an accent wall which is now characterized by the use of decorative wooden cladding and metal mashrabiyas to cover the openings, complimenting the newly-treated staircase handrails.
The Family halls, both on the ground and the upper level, were also designed to improve the family’s experience for their quality time together. The family hall, located at the ground floor uses the same scheme (color, texture & materials) as the entrance hall. The ceiling was painted in gold along with decorative moldings and carvings as complimentary to the existing classical pillars in this room. A built-in TV wall decorated with wooden-cladding combined with Stone and wall lamps is the highlight of this hall. The family hall at the upper floor has the same features as the one on the ground floor except that a dry bar is also incorporated here.
