ADEC Schools
Musanada has called for a design competition on behalf of ADEC to design and construct 7 new schools in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. The project brief called for a mix of 3 prototype schools serving 3,400 students overall, 2,000 for type one, cycles 1 & 2 students, 700 for type two and 700 for KG students.
The schools are part of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed initiative to serve and elevate the demand for higher level of education in UAE. The design responded to ADEC’s needs in terms of modularity of construction, green building approach and modern architecture. The design also addressed behavioral aspects of the students at different ages; the organized massing that contains inner courtyards represents regimented approach to organize students’ lives around playful cores. Colorful themes were also carefully considered to kindle interest and uniqueness approach on education by physical elements besides curriculum values.
